Four months later

My intramural softball team got together in September. We were only able to play 3 out of our 8 scheduled games due to rain delays. Most of the time it seems like it never rains, but the showers came nearly every time we tried to play. And we had a good team. Originally the playoffs were scheduled for the middle of October, then the next week, then the next week, then the next month. We pretty much gave up and were really bummed. After all, we knew we were good and all we wanted was the shirt to prove it. Finally, in the next year, last weekend in fact, we got to play. And guess what? We won! We got our shirts today.
