The Superdome
I have mixed feelings about the rebuilding of the Superdome in New Orleans. I understand that it can provide hope for those whose homes were ravaged by the hurricane - that their neighborhoods could come back. But shouldn't they have spent all that time and money working on the neighborhoods instead of the dome? What do you think?

Considering the city voted in their incompetent mayor, it doesn't surprise me.
Rebuilding the dome creates jobs in a lot of ways. First, the construction workers. While there is no guarantee these will be local workers, they will still have to eat, buy groceries, and pay rent. This helps the struggling economy. But when the dome is built, it creates jobs not only in the dome, but creates hotel jobs, restaurant jobs, even department store clerk jobs. If people have jobs to "come home to", they are more likely to return to New Orleans and rebuild. Plus the jobs provide money for the average person to rebuild their homes.
They needed it for football, so of course they had to rebuild it.
I don't know where I stand because New Orleans is technically under sea level anyway and i don't understand whey they want to dump so much money into something that is eventually going to be entirely under water.
